AI Skills for the Workforce

Eligible BSB50120 graduates receive a 100% scholarship into AIOL's separate AI Certification Course, with no additional tuition fee under the current graduate offer.
The separate course explores practical prompting, productivity, digital marketing, specialist GPTs and custom AI assistants. For a future entrepreneur, the value is learning how AI may assist with research, productivity, communication and digital work while still applying human judgement to business decisions.
Important: AI Skills for the Workforce is separate non accredited professional learning. It is not a unit or component of BSB50120 Diploma of Business. Eligibility and current program terms are confirmed before access is issued.
Keep another door open
Build the business skills now. University can remain an option.
Entrepreneurship does not require you to choose between practical business experience and further study forever. A completed Diploma may support tertiary admission and university credit if you later decide that a degree would help you specialise or broaden your knowledge.
Southern Cross University
Southern Cross University currently publishes eight units of credit, equivalent to one year of full time study, for BSB50120 Diploma of Business into selected Business degrees, including Bachelor of Business pathways.
QUT selection rank pathway
QUT currently publishes a selection rank of 87 for a completed AQF Diploma. A selection rank is not an ATAR and admission still depends on the chosen course and current entry requirements.

It builds capability across several areas that become important when you run or help build a business. It is not a complete substitute for professional legal, accounting, financial or business advice. It gives you a stronger base from which to understand the questions a business owner needs to ask.
Do I need to already own a business?
No. BSB50120 Diploma of Business has no formal national entry requirements. You may be preparing for entrepreneurship, already developing an idea, working for someone else or still deciding what direction you want to take.
AIOL completes a pre enrolment suitability process that considers your goals, language, literacy and numeracy proficiency, digital literacy and any support needs before advising whether the course is suitable for you.
Will this teach me everything I need to start a business?
No single Diploma can teach everything involved in building a successful business. Different industries have different legal, licensing, tax, financial, insurance and operational requirements.
You will develop capability in several areas founders need to understand, but specialist advice may still be required when establishing or operating a real business.
Will completing the Diploma make my business successful?
No. AIOL does not guarantee business success, income, profit or a particular commercial outcome from completing the qualification.
Business outcomes depend on many factors including your idea, market, pricing, customers, competition, decisions, timing, execution and financial position. The course is designed to develop skills and knowledge, not promise a commercial result.
What will I learn about money?
BSBFIN501 Manage budgets and financial plans develops capability around financial plans and budgets. The purpose is to help you understand how financial information supports business planning and decision making.
The Diploma does not replace an accountant, tax adviser or financial adviser.
What will I learn about business risk and starting a new venture?
BSBESB402 Establish legal and risk management requirements of new business ventures focuses on considerations relevant to establishing a venture. BSBOPS504 Manage business risk develops capability in identifying, analysing and responding to business risks.
These units help you understand the thinking involved. They do not provide individual legal advice for a particular business.
Does BSB50120 Diploma of Business include AI training?
The nationally recognised Diploma and AIOL's AI Skills for the Workforce course are separate programs.
Eligible BSB50120 graduates currently receive a 100% scholarship into the separate non accredited AI professional learning course, subject to the current graduate offer and eligibility terms.
Why would university matter if I want to become an entrepreneur?
It may not be the path you choose, and you do not need to make that decision now. The advantage of keeping a university pathway available is flexibility.
If your future business direction leads you towards deeper study in areas such as business, management, accounting, marketing or another discipline, a completed Diploma may assist with admission or credit depending on the university and degree.
Southern Cross University currently publishes up to eight units, equivalent to one year of full time study, for BSB50120 into selected Business degrees. QUT currently publishes a selection rank of 87 for a completed AQF Diploma. These arrangements can change and should be confirmed directly before relying on them.
How is the qualification assessed?
Assessment is competency based. Evidence may include projects, plans, presentations, written responses, workplace style documents and practical activities.
You must demonstrate the skills and knowledge required for each unit. Reasonable adjustment may be available where it maintains the integrity of the assessment requirements.
What does the course cost?
The current course fee is $3,500, advertised as 14 monthly interest free instalments of $250.
A once only enrolment and student administration fee of $280 also applies, bringing the total required cost to $3,780 under the current fee structure.
What happens after I submit an Expression of Interest?
An Expression of Interest starts the process. It does not automatically enrol you, require payment to submit or guarantee acceptance.
Your enrolment is confirmed only after the required process has been completed and AIOL issues final confirmation.
