Ricky Naicker is the Founder and Lead Trainer of the Australian Institute of Learning. He brings the lessons of building and leading multimillion-dollar businesses into the room, alongside an MBA and twenty additional qualifications and professional accreditations across business, leadership, management, human resources, training and assessment.
Ricky founded the Australian Institute of Learning in 2008 and has personally mentored more than one thousand learners. The Diploma is delivered over approximately four to five school terms. Timing depends on your school timetable, delivery option and how you progress through the competency-based assessments.
Limited enrolments per school and maximum class sizes apply. Submit your Expression of Interest now so AIOL and your school can review suitability, delivery availability and 2027 cohort capacity. A place is confirmed only after the enrolment process is complete.

Every eligible BSB50120 graduate receives a 100% scholarship into AIOL’s separate AI Certification Course, with no additional tuition fee under the current graduate offer.
Explore practical prompting, productivity, digital marketing, study support, specialist GPTs and custom AI assistants. It is a distinct professional learning course designed to sit beside your nationally recognised Diploma.
Clear distinction: AI Skills for the Workforce is separate non-accredited professional learning. It is not a unit or component of BSB50120 Diploma of Business. Eligibility and course terms are confirmed before access is issued.
A qualification that can open more than one door
Finish school with a qualification that can help with QCE and university.
The Diploma can support QCE, tertiary admission and university credit pathways. The exact outcome depends on your completed units, learner record, institution and chosen degree.
QCE credits
Eligible Queensland students may accrue one QCE credit for each completed Diploma unit, up to the QCAA maximum of eight credits.
Indicative tertiary selection rank
A completed Diploma may be assigned a tertiary selection rank. This is often described as an ATAR equivalent, but it is not an ATAR. The institution and current admission rules determine the rank.
Potential university credit
Southern Cross University currently publishes credit equivalent to the first year, eight units, for BSB50120 into selected Bachelor degrees, including the Bachelor of Business.
*Pathway outcomes are not guaranteed. QUT currently publishes a selection rank of 87 for a completed AQF Diploma. Other institutions may apply a different rank, which is why the 84–87 range is indicative only. Students must confirm admission and credit directly with QTAC and the relevant university.

What are the entry and suitability requirements?
The national qualification has no formal entry requirements. AIOL completes a pre enrolment suitability process that considers your goals, language, literacy and numeracy proficiency, digital literacy and support needs. The outcome is used to advise whether this qualification is suitable for you.
How is the qualification assessed?
Assessment is competency based. Evidence may include projects, plans, presentations, written responses, workplace style documents and practical activities. You must demonstrate the required skills and knowledge for every unit. Reasonable adjustment may be available where it maintains the integrity of the assessment requirements.
Can this qualification support QCE or university pathways?
For eligible Queensland students, Diploma and Advanced Diploma studies may accrue one QCE credit per completed unit, up to a maximum of eight credits, subject to QCAA rules and the student’s existing learning account.
A completed Diploma may be assigned a tertiary selection rank. AIOL describes an indicative 84–87 range; QUT currently publishes 87 for a completed AQF Diploma. A selection rank is not an ATAR, and the result varies by institution, study history and current admission rules.
Southern Cross University currently publishes eight units of credit, equivalent to the first year, for BSB50120 into selected Bachelor degrees including the Bachelor of Business. Other universities may also assess the qualification for credit. Students are responsible for confirming the current outcome directly with the university before relying on it.
Is the AI Skills for the Workforce bonus nationally recognised training?
No. AI Skills for the Workforce is a separate, non-accredited professional learning course. AIOL currently offers eligible BSB50120 graduates a 100% scholarship with no additional tuition fee, subject to current program terms. BSB50120 Diploma of Business is the nationally recognised qualification.
What support will I have while I study?
You have direct access to a trainer, ongoing feedback and regular opportunities to discuss challenges. AIOL is a smaller college, so the goal is to know each student and notice when extra guidance may help. Private wellbeing check-ins are available as educational support conversations, with referral to appropriate help when a student needs specialist or urgent support.
What happens after I submit an Expression of Interest?
The Expression of Interest is the first step. It does not enrol you, require payment or guarantee a place. If the course appears suitable and capacity is available, the usual next steps are:
AIOL will explain the current fees, terms, delivery arrangements and documents before asking you to proceed. A place is confirmed only after the required steps are complete and AIOL issues final confirmation.
